    Default driving licence

    Hi all
i have been told by my employers that my driving licence is not legal,
i have green and pink paper licence from when i past test in 1989 but am being told that i must have new two part with photo card .
i have looked on dvla web site and cannot see anything that says i must renew my licence
does anyone know if i need to renew or is it just my companys policy.
    Thanks Ian..

The paper driving license is still perfectly legal, the dvla just dont issue them anymore. If you want to upgrade to the new one it costs 17.50 if i remember correctly.

If its company policy to have the new one then surely they would stump up the money for the photocard?

Note also the photo licences only last for ten years and need to be renewed or else they become void!!

Check your issue and expirey date!!

Paper licences are legal until you turn 70 yrs old....
    Must just be company policy

Paper licence is 100% legit. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, whoever tries to tell you the old paper style driving licence is illegal is either talking through their jacksie, or hasn't got a clue what they are talking about.
I'm not giving my paper licence up, not even to remove my expired speeding points.

^ on the official web****e, you won't find anything to say the old paper licence is still valid. I've looked - they are just trying to get everyone on the photo type, which is effectively an ID card system.
It's common sense that the old style licences have not been revoked. We would've had a letter from the DVLA if our licences were no longer valid.

Ianvilla1, if you want to quote what someone has said, in their post, in the bottom right corner there is a button that says 'QUOTE', click on that button in their post and the text box will open as usual for you, but what they said in their post will be in there for you already. Just press enter on your keyboard a couple of times to start a new paragraph and type your post then submit. I've sorted the other posts above out for you mate.
