It would appear that mine has been turned off. I get a little picture on the mileage display when I start the car with a cross next to it. I think its indicating the passenger airbag is disabled anyways.

I'd like to know how to turn it back on.

Only thing I can think of is its a later feature I've not come across... I know with certain cars you could use a key to disable the passenger one, but I think I've got access to an 07 plate tomorrow so will check...

Otherwise, don't vauxhall do a transponder chipped child seat that turns the airbag off when the car detects it's presence.

Damned expensive though I bet....being Vauxhall and all that.

Thats what I thought too, there's something in the manual about a genuine vauxhall child seat being able to disable the passenger airbag when it's fitted to the front passenger seat. Should diplay the airbag disactivation in the odometer display on the speedo.

That is the symbol that shows that its equipped to take a transponder child seat. It does not mean that the airbag is off all the time.

Thats what the symbol in Mogsy007's post refers too.

Yep thats right, but IIRC its only available at the cars order, although i am sure it can be retrofitted
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Put the sprog on the back seat (in a car seat obviously). That way you won't be tempted to attend to her needs whilst driving along. ie, you'll have to stop and pull over rather than just reaching across to the front passenger seat while driving and having your attention taken away from the road.

This is indeed the cheapest and safest option!
