Vectra 1.9 cdti problems...Endless...help please?

Hi all,

I have a few problems with my Vectra 04 1.9cdti i bought 2 weeks ago:

1.Window wipers are on or off even when disconnecting rain sensor?

2.Heater only works on setting 4? possible relay problem?

3.Dual mass Flywheel, clutch and cambelt changed costing £1000 last week, loosing a bit of faith in the veccy but hopefully not much could go wrong i hope.

4. Some sort of sensor in the front window passenger side near pilar? no clues at all....

Just trying to get the car as problem free as possible....

The only one that resembles a fault is number 2, this is likely to be the resistor.

if you have spent £1000 already, you have to decide keep spending or p/x and start again. you bought just at the wrong time - clutch/cam belt due.

thanks for replys, i did cambelt due to it was cheap to do£45 for parts and 2 hours labour, clutch had to be done as i had to do dual mass flywheel.

need help mainly with wipers doing my head in. any suggestions?

no they arent i have to stop them at the bottom of windscreen if thats what you mean?

i have got a rain sensor wipers but i move the windscreen stalk up and it turns them on no matter what and have to move stalk down to get them to stop. i have tried disconnecting the rainsor but still the same.

Also when i move the stalk down i can hear the cancel click if thats ment to happen?

could be the relay. older cars like cavaliers,astras,corsa's had i simillar fault which was the relay. I had the problem on a cavalier where the wipers wouldn't park and whilst on ittermit they went haywire(cutting in and out doing half sweeps). I repalced the relay and all was sorted

Ok well thanks for the help, i will have a browse 2moz at which relays do what and pop down to dealers,
