    Default CID type confusion

I am confused about all the CID types around.
I tried searching on CID but the only 3 characters is to short for a search.

I would like to upgrade the GID on my pre-facelift full canbus vec with CD70 to a CID, I have been looking on Ebay but I see many types.
I remember a thread that said that I need type BD for my car, but only types I can find are BN and YF.

Is there a list somewhere on this forum of all the types and what wil fit what car?

I am compiling a list, but for pre-facelift full can CID you will need:

    AK - 132 06 564 or 12 36 753 - chassis number 71000000 to 71082921

    or

    DB - 244 612 93 or 62 36 485 - chassis number 51000001 to 71000000

    You will also need rgb cable - code RTZ - 131 854 91 or 62 94 476 - called " Aux Display Harness".

AW is a wide screen / facelift item for chassis number 71082922 onward

ER, GQ, QY, WY, YF & YG are all variations on half-can colour screens and so are also unsuitable. for vehicles upto chassis number 48999999

    hope that helps....

    Thanks ,

    This does help a lot.

Any idea on what the difference is between the AK and the DB version? I need a DB, but what if I fit an AK?

Also, I see some people fitted the widescreen version, by replacing the vents. Can an AW be used?

AW can be used...but it is from a facelift vectra. It is also a widescreen display.

You would need a facelift air vent panel...approx £40 from Vauxhall.

Then you would need to grind the top 3mm ( 1/8th Inch) off the top to remove the curved profile along the top. so that it fits into squarer profile of the pre-facelift dash panel.

You will also need to ensure that it is pushed up when you screw it back, or else the clip-in trim strip (that runs from the top of the glovebox to between the radio and screen) will not go in underneath it properly.

    I did this for the wife's 2005 vectra with a 2006 CD70 and CID.
