    Default mpg

    Hi my 2.2tdi seems a bit heavy on diesal on 20 quid it gets about 125 miles thats on combined motorway and town driving , only had car a week .
    also had spanner light and limp mode happen twice at about 50 to 60 mph any thoughts thanks

    think its now due 1, its done 57000 miles on 03 p-late was thinkin of doing my own service but dont fancy doing fuel filter change lol

    I would get her serviced, just done mine today, the 1.9 are a right pain in the neck to change, I am sure the 2.2 is a bit easier mate.
    If I can do it, anyone can.

    It does seem a bit low but stop start driving & the low temperatures kill mpg but if your getting warning lights on get it into Duerdens

    every time the fault light comes on the ecu throws diesel into the oil to ensure it can limp to the garage. Really does mess your mpg up!!!

    has done with mine too, might be the 4-5 mins of idleing in the morning to clear windows though

    The diesels are such big heavy lumps that in cold weather they can take 20+ minutes to reach full operating temperature & consume extra diesel in the process

    but they are happy whist they do it. sell it and get a 2.8 turbo for the winter

    In winter it's hard enough keeping the front wheels of a slightly tweeked BSRi 1.9 spinning at the right speed never mind a 2.8 Turbo, so I think I'll pass
