    Default PayPal scam ??

Received an e-mail from Paypal today saying that I had no bank account or back up funding. The e-mail shows what is, to all intents & purposes, a Paypal page. It asks you to go to www dot paypal dot co dot uk. On doing so, you get what looks like a Paypal page but the secure site padlock is not displayed.

If however, you go to Paypal via www dot paypal dot com/uk, the padlock is there, so I think the UK address above is spam?

Just to add, that when I log in as normal, my bank account and back up funding are still there.

    Should I be concerned?

Right click on the email and click on properties. It should show you the route the email has taken to get to you, and the REAL email address it came from which i'm pretty sure won't be from Paypal

I hope you didn't log in via the email. If you have you've just given the scammers your password and access to your account !!!

With websites like this you get the email notification and in the email the link looks perfectly legit. HOWEVER if you hover the mouse over the link (don't click it) you will see where this link will take you in the bottom left hand corner of your browser. 99.9% of the time its slightly different to what the link says.
i.e PayPal.co.uk will appear but the hover over will show PayPal-help.co.uk a completely unaffiliated site and this is how they get your info.

Always worth that quick double check.
