Default Facelift grille - changing the V

I have had a V sprayed up in the colour of my car and I now need to fit it to m exisitng grille.. From what the guys who sprayed it told me its a nightmare of a fiddly job.. Now as its a facelift i can see that the grille is connected to the bumper, do i need to take the bumper off to get access to it and unclip the existing chrome style V?

I have searched 'change facelift grille' etc and cannot find any pics that show somebody doing this.. I know some guys have done this mod to their cars, just wondering if one could offer up some tips that may help me and save me from shreadding my fingers or breaking it...

Take the bumper off only takes 10/15 min it's easier to access the grill then I used hot water on mine so the lugs didn't break off

Yup - in an unfortunate design feature that really annoys me, anything to do with the grill requires the bumper to be taken off on the facelift. The prefacelift guys have it much easier - they just open the bonnet and break their back bending over backwards to get to it...

im free then, let us know if you want any help

you just need some cardboard, so you don't scratch the bottom of the bumper when you take it off, a torx screwdriver and maybe some needle nose pliars, depending on how tough the lug nuts are

it can be done with the bumper on but its a right ****** and you'll shred your hands, i'd highly recommend taking the 5 minutes to remove the bumper as well. Just be careful to not break any of the silly plastic clips when getting the old one off.
