    Default Cigarette Lighter Blanking Plug

Anyone seen this being sold on Ebay several times over the past couple of months?

I quite liked the idea of a simple, stylish blanking plug for the ugly protruding lighter, but wasn't fussed about having a VXR logo and certainly didn't like the £31 inc p&p price for something that cost just a few pounds to make. So instead I bought a 19mm wide version of the item below (blanking plugs for silicone hoses), also sold via Ebay, and fitted rubber o-rings to the grooves, job done and it fits perfectly, for a fraction of the cost of the VXR one.

did you have to cut anything off the length or did it just pop in?

I cut the end off just at the top of the lowest groove, if that makes sense (so it still looks the same, just shorter). I'm not sure if that was essential, but wanted to avoid the same metal touching the bottom of the lighter socket and the side, just in case that caused it to blow a fuse.
