    Question cdc40 Aux in

Hi all. I've just put a deposit on a 54 plate Elite cdti150. I know the cdc 40 doesnt support an aux in, but has anyone tried splicing into the signal cables from the dab box? I could see using a 3 pole A/B switch to select between dab or a 3.5mm cable. Has this been tried?

I am assuming by the lack of response that this has not been done...

You could always try it and report back.

Alternatively, try the German forums...they have tried most other things with varying degrees of success.
There's even some stuff posted up on YouTube.

I would expect however, that if this has been done, then it will have been done with micro-electronic SMD type components being fitted into the main head-unit circuit board.

Personally, I don't know if this would work, but I would assume that if an audio signal is sent to the head unit from the DAB unit, then this would be in a digital format...so it could be assumed that your audio signal would also need to be in digital format.

I picked up the car this weekend, and I was mistaken, its a CDC40 but no dab tuner/ariel. I've decided to use my kenwood cd player from my pervious car.

I've looked at the wiring pin out for the CDC40, and it is the only radio that can have the Aux In wires fitted - According to Vauxhall's TIS and information of the german Vectra forums, it can be wired in place of the DAB audio signal wires.

Have you got a link to that forum? Do they mention what has to be done with tech2 to enable the feature? I would love to keep the factory unit if possible

I don't have a link, and I don't believe there is any Tech 2 required.

But I have seen wiring pin outs from Germany, which state that Aux In can be fitted in place of the DAB audio input..
I did a translation of it years ago for my CD70...sadly it was no use to me

    Here is a scanned copy..
