just spoke with different dealer and rubber elbows are 4.94 each and pipe is 4.74 per mtr.

total cost to replace all would be a lot more than a tenner.... am i being jipped here or what by vx?

When I needed some new vacuum pipe, the rubber pipe for the ends was also sold by the metre. I think that you only need to buy pre-cut rubber connectors when they are anything other than short straight pieces i.e. right angles and curves where a straight piece of pipe won't do.

the ends are elbows mate so would not be able to use the straight rubber tube.
i thought it would be probably best to replace them as they'd be a nice tight fit with them being new but seems a lot of cash for what they actually are.

OK. The rubber connectors that I needed to replace were the straight ones, so I could just buy the 'by the metre' stuff.

Perhaps you can minimise the cost by checking the pipes and rubber ends yourself to identify any that have got leaks so you can just change the those. That's what I did and ended up only needing to replace 1 vacuum pipe and it's 2 (straight) rubber connectors. It's just like checking ignition advance in the olden days when it was vacuum-operated, only you need to repeat 2 or 3 times depending on if your car has a vacuum-operated valve in the top of the throttle body or not.
