Pleeeeeease HELP.....

Hi all, Im a little worried about me car but i dont know weather i should be or not....

Car is a 57 SRI 2.0t (Z20NET)

1st thing is i get a little rattle from the engine when my foot is off the clutch but it goes when i press my foot on the clutch, Is this normal for these cars or should i br worried...

2nd is my lights dim a little when you are at a standstill and you turn the steering wheel left or right, again is this normal of not.....

Please help as its a new car and warranty is running out fast....

rattle could be dmf, dimming could be alternator/battery problem, either way i would get it booked into vx for a check up if it's still under warrenty...

Think the lighting problem is same on all vecs, not sure about the clutch, maybe clutch release bearing or sumthing??

Cant honestly say that i've noticed any rattles on my 2T...but im sure if i tried i would..

is your battery/alternastor up to the job???

Mine has the same lighting problem! when it was in VX last for some warranty work i reported it and they said there is no fault code for it and they cant physically find a fault either! A cop out by VX if you ask me, when it's out of warranty i bet they find the fault then! when i have to pay

I have put it down to the steering pump taking a load from the electrical system!

I would be interested to see as well if others suffer the same and have a different explanation than VX

Just dropped my 58 2.0t into vx tonight for a new alternator under warranty. Cutting out when air con on and erratic revs while idling. I have also noticed the lights dimming when turning too I will see if the new alt cures this.
I also noticed the funny rattle when clutch is up. Not told vx bout this as I did not think it to be a big prob, am I wrong? It’s due a service next month I might just mention it then.
The only other on-going prob is a squeaky driver’s seat arrrhh why can’t they just fix it!!!

Dual Mass Flywheel definately mate, VX charge 1k for the pleasure of changing it as well!

If its under warranty get it in as soon as possible before your warranty runs out!

Search DMF and you'll find loads of threads on this very common fault!

Very big job mate, got to drop the subframe etc!

ummmm i think its gonna have to spend the day with vaux then..... I bet they do there usual though and say "theres nothing wrong with it".... Grrrrrrrrr
