Don't think there's a great deal you can do unless money is no object. I have the 1.8 vvti and all the decent mods cost a fair bit

pretty much hit a wall with the 1,8 non vvt guys.. can do the usuall airbox mod. full system but its not gonna make a hige difference..chipping a standard car is pointless unless its benificial to other modifications such as uprated cams etc..

you can get a turbo kit for it but looking at sub 4k then your gonna need to upgrade brakes and suspension..

Their is inlet manifolds and exhaust maniflds available for them but again not gonna be what your looking for power wise.. the time you spend4-5 k your not even gonna be looking at 200bhp with that particular engine..

trust me i was in the exact same canoe so decided to go the make it look pretty look instead..

    Vehicle : Vectra 1.8 SRi

engine transplant or get rid and get something that responds better to tuning! I've got the z18xe, it simply wasn't designed for power. If you want to make the car feel more lively then maybe look at some new springs and if you're not at all bothered about practicality then maybe lose some unnecessary weight.

Probably cheaper to look towards a standard 2.0 Turbo, rather than spend shedloads on the 1.8. Or 2.2 if you're looking for a more modest increase.

The 1.8 doesn't like to be tuned or chipped, as the gains cost a fortune.

Thanks for all your comments guys . I might look into upgrading to a 2.0 turbo a some time into the future but for now as Dose says , make it look pretty haha . I must post a few pictures during the week as Ive only started spending a few bob on it . I just put 18" amg wheels under her and must look into lowering springs. So when i get the pics up i will be asking for your opinions on it . Thanks again guys . Tim
