Exclamation Here's a good one for you all!

    I own a 1.9CDti vectra, bought in feb 08.

I use it as a taxi and there is currently 58,000 miles on it.

I had back brakes problems early on, then nothing for a long time, however

at 38,000 mile the engine started rattling on start up then sounded like it was seizing up. eventually it wouldnt start,
    Vauxhall replaced the starter...

at 48,000 mile the same noises etc started again, then the seizing sounds then wouldnt start,
Vauxhall replaced the flywheel and the starter....

at 58,000 miles the same noises started again, then the seizing sounds and then it would start intermitently, i caught it early and left it to vauxhall, thinking they'll sort it and i'll not have to do without a car for a week...
This time Vauxhall replaced the battery and told me it was faulty, althought they blamed my taxi equipment for causing the fault,
I got the car back last night and it started,

THEN it didn't start, and wouldn't start.......

To me, the starter or flywheel is away again, But i've noticed a pattern, has anyone else?

I dont know what to do about this car, i've lost all faith in it and in Vauxhalls service department, should i seek legal advice or give them one more chance, Bearing in mind i have 2000 miles of warranty left and dont want to be sitting at 68,000 miles and paying out £700-£800 to fix what clearly is a fault with the car?

    All advice greatly appreciated.

I'd insist that car is put right! Persist with dealer...don't let them away with this. Is it Charles Hurst?
I've never heard of this problem, don't think it's a known issue. Is your car the 150 or 120?

Its the 120, and shock horror, Yes it is Charles Hurst...

I went over this morning with my car empty of all personal belongings and set my keys on the counter in front of the service manager and walked out... still waiting on them ringing me.

    So to update!

They rang me to say that the battery was dead! tried to blame it on my taxi equipment again, i argued with them that this was impossible because i got the battery tested independently and it was fine, Also informed them again that i tried jump leads and the car wouldnt start.

So off they went again, they rang me at 4pm, to inform me that it was indeed my starter motor, the motor had siezed up.... Hmmmm i remember telling them that....

Anyway they replaced the starter with a "new" one... which i later found out is a refurbished one, as the last 3 have also been....

Anyway, Charles Hurst said there was nothing they could do about the warranty because i the car is used as a taxi, My question to them is why? what does it matter whether there was 58,000 put on in 1 year or 2 years or 5 years, a warranty to 60,000 miles is still a warranty,

So they didnt charge me but said if it happened again outside the 60,000 miles they could do nothing...

I got a list of all work carried out on the car and will be getting a letter drafted by my solicitor to sent to vauxhall direct...

I dont think this is on...

    All opinions accepted and appreciated.
