i need to do an oil change on my 2,0dti. nation tyres want £45, but i was thinking about doing it my self because i can do a basic service for that much with filters, ive done old changes before but that was on the vectra B how hard/easy is it????? is it a case of taking the under trays off and sump plugs there???? also jut checking on euro car parts the filter for oil dont look like a srew on filter are they diff on the vectra c?

    what size is sump plug?

I had an Astra 2.0DTi so hopefully the Vec is the same. The filter was a paper filter that was just insert into the enclosure. The enclosure was accessed from above at the front of the engine with a 34mm or 36mm socket.

Like you say, engine tray off, sump plug is located on the sump. On my 2.0DTi is was a torx key needed to remove it (careful not to strip it). I also replaced the sump plug when I serviced it.

Diesel filter on my 2.0DTi Astra, the filter housing is at the rear of the engine compartment. I just opened it using a torx key, changed the filter and the seals and closed it up again. Some people top up the enclosure with diesel but I didn't bother. Just spent a few moments stuttering until the fuel came through and then it started fine.
