Ok lads, just a quick question..

From say 1.5k - 3k my car pulls hard & u hear the turbo spool up, then after 3.5k the car seems to accelerate like it has no turbo or not as hard anyway?

Is that common for a low blow turbo?? The turbo is new before i bought the car.. My car is standard..

p.s. I'm gonna fit a boost guage soon to keep any eye on it..

    Cheer Marc

I can hear mine going right through the rev range, TBH I think mine pulls best at 2.5 - 4.5k revs.

In the little time of owning mine you can hear the turbo all the way up to the redline.

The Vectra 2.0T is a fine car, but at 175bhp it is grossly under powered compared to what it's capable of. It is after all over 20bhp more than the 2.2 direct in standard form, but the torque is of course higher.

The standard map doesn't allow the turbo to work to it's full potential, so yes your right, a decent re-map will allow the car to run like it should.

It was kept at 175bhp for marketing reasons by Opel/Vauxhall. As the 3.2 GSi was 208bhp they knew that a 200bhp 2.0T would be a quicker car.

Just like my old Edition 100. The 2.0T has a much wider powerband and responds more readily from low revs than the CDTI 150. The torque figure in standard tune is higher than you might expect from a standard engine of that size and type, the higher up the rev range you go, the more it just keeps wanting to go....and go....and go.

Remapping enhances that......and then some. The torque deficit on a CDTI 150 is made up, and remapping also brings the most out of using Tesco 99 super unleaded.
