    Default 2.2dti vectra

    hi all hows it going,just bought myself an 04 2.2dti auto vectra,great car when it goes lol, getting code p0234 overboost so changed sensor still the same then got p0100 changed the airflow sensor as well but still in 5th gear at steady revs spanner comes on

    I had that code and it was because the turbo viens were stuck in the open position all the time, so overboosting. If you put your footdown does it go into limp mode?

    Any split vac pipes?

    Firstly welcome to vectra-c.com m8 .
    first thing to check is all your vacuum hose connection,s look for splits or signs of perishing also check the large hoses that connect your engine to the turbo via the intrcooler,s for splits If all sems ok test the vacuum actuattors to see if there still working , you will either have two or three of these depending on where your car was made.

    yeah but will limp mode when at steady revs ass well checked all the usual simple things

    yeah have checked and double checked thanks for helping me hope i get this sorted

    have a read of the thread with pics http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=95045

    Does your fault code come up with 5a or 5b, as this code can mean an underboost depending on the a or b. If yours is overboost and it's not the sensor in the inlet manifold then it does point towards the turbo, or wastegate, mine was a little rusty and seized so I had to work it free.

    The bad news if it is this is that it's a bit awkward to get at, I removed front bumper, and rad, and took the exhaust manifold off the car the turbo is part of the exhaust manifold. Have a look at this video

    see that the wastegate should move freely.
