    Default is it worth it?

I bought my 1.8 vvti exclusiv in september but i feel its too slow for me.
Ive seen a 1.9 cdti exclusiv for sale and im really tempted to go exchange even though i would have to pay a little bit more than i am at the mo.

considering there are more tuning options for the cdti and better fuel economy, is it worth me changing over.

i already have the xp styling pack that i can change over but ill have to get my new suspension exchanged as i still havent recieved it.

    is it worth it??

please help, its driving the wife mental

120bhp diesel not alot different, 150 bhp pretty quick before you plug in a tuning box, the vvt,s arent bad they just need to be revved hard.

Get a 2.0T instead of the 1.9. It's just as tuneable, and less likely to go wrong, (e.g. no EGR valve, swirl valves, no cambelt).

I would have thought that the CDTi 120 would actually be slower than the 1.8 VVTi as it's already a fairly quick car if you give it the beans. IIRC 130BHP isn't it? May be worth test driving a CDTi 150 to see if you think it's worth the performance, and then do a bit of maths about whether the fuel economy is worth it

140ps or about 138 bhp for the vvt with a claimed top speed of 131 so yes they are faster than a 120 diesel, they just dont have the low down grunt, but then the diesels cant rev to over 6.5 lol.

Although the turbo charger loses steam before then anyways so there wouldn't be much point in revving a diesel to much, better to shift up.

Not that the turbo loses steam, more that diesel burns slower than petrol in the combustion cycle.

A 1.9cdti with a decent remap such as BSR etc bringing it to around 185 / 190bhp, and I doubt you'd be dissapointed with it.. My average mpg is 47.1..
