    Default Sump drain plug?

On a 1.8 (03) Vectra, where is it??

Got my new oil and filter yesterday, grabbed my tools, then spent 10mins searching for the elusive drain plug........nightmare. Just hope none of the neighbours saw me....

Have a look at this thread. You'll see the drain plug on a 2.0T - yours may be in the same area? That pic was taken looking towards the front of the car.

Cheers Duncan, I just found that thread myself. I'm so used to the plug being at the bottom/front of the sump, I didn't think to look at the side/rear......

    Thanks again,

    Paul

Are the oil filters meant to come with the plastic cover?!? when i bought mine all i got was the paper filter itself and a few o-rings. Maybe if i got the plastic bit aswell i would'nt have felt so ripped off for spending 30 quid.

What you see in that photo is exactly what I got when I bought an oil filter for mine. Are you guys meaning the plastic bit at the bottom with the nut/o-ring etc.? Maybe on the 3.0CDTi you need to reuse the one that's on the original filter?

Yes thats the bit, it doesn't come with that for the isuzu engine, just the element and o-rings.

As it is easy to change the filter, I would recommend that you change it often, say 6 months or 6K. I'd never run one for 20K, your asking for trouble.
