    Default Automatic locking

Here's something I noticed tonight and would like confirmation that this is normal on my type of car 2005 my SRi 2.2 direct.

If I unlock the car fully and leave it for about 30 secs without doing anything else it relocks itself as if I had pressed the r/c lock button once.

    Is this a normal feature?

Yep, standard security feature matey. It will relock unless you open a door, its incase you accidently press the key button while close to the car or unlock your car and then your distracted and forget to lock again.

My old 51 reg clio did the same thing, and i think quite a few cars do it now.

    Hope this helps bud!

Thanks all for the replies. Good feature once you know but I was wondering if madeness might be setting in at one time. Is it mentioned in the handbook (must admit I haven't read it in full)?

yeah its a std feature also on our corsa sri

wot we also have on the corsa is if i pull the headlamp flasher switch
towards me and hold it for about 4 sec`s then let go the headlamps keep
lit for about 30 seconds then goes out, thats for if you live were there is no
street lighting or on ya driveway, think its a good feature to have so check
ya vectra`s and test it to see if you have it.

Standard feature on all Vectras I believe, certainly on older models, not sure if it survived the gadget cull on the later models.

I imagine they wouldn't take this feature out because it's just a software feature - no ongoing parts costs.

Vectra's have this too Andy. Also reversing lights come on for those that reverse onto their driveways.

MkII Cav's had this feature too. If you turned off the engine and removed the key, then switched off your headlights they stayed on for 30 secs.
