Default 2.0 DTI - remap plus induction kit

Hi guys, i just have a few questions. Ive got a 2.0DTI and ive looked online and found a company in bristol that will do a remap and pre and post dyno for £280 inc vat. Heres the website: http://www.southwestincartech.co.uk/...all_vectra.htm

i was also looking to get an induction for it, but was wondering if it is actually worth it. The induction kit is looking to cost about £70 but if the gains from the induction kit wouldnt be noticeable i wont bother. Heres the induction kit: http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pag...roduct=3940626

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Forget about the induction kit, you are better off with a K&N or similar panel filter...

Just had a look at the remap site & it's basically a Celtic tuning remap or so they're saying, those figures quoted are very optimistic btw...
With a good remap alone you will only be achieving 30% increase at the most.

are the celtics maps not good?? i had a look in some of the other threads on this site and people have said the k&n panel filters dont seem to do much and if you over oil them you can damage something (forget the name). Finally, this is prob a noob thing to say, but if i take the cat off wont i be screwed when the MOT comes round on emmissions??

    Thanks

Regards CAT afaik only petrols need them for MOT due to EU laws regarding pollution, dervs will run fine without and pass MOT (or at least assume they will )

Yep it should pass an mot no problem, with regards to the remap i don't think they will do it as most if not all the Vec C dti's have the hybrid fuel pump fitted

Putting an aftermarket panel filter in doesn't give massive gains but it does allow the engine to rev a bit better.
The K&N comes pre oiled so you won't have to recharge it for a good while, I've always done mine every 6 months & never had a problem with my AFM.

Decatting a diesel will not be a problem for the mot either

thanks for the advise guys, pretty annoyed about the remap situation as for 280 plus dyno runs i was quite impressed even if the gains werent as high as they said. Still going to take my car in on monday and see if it can be done.

If im not getting remapped with them?? will other types of remap work?? do you know any decent places near bristol for a similar price??

    Thanks
