    Default Poxy HIDs !!!! Grrrrrrrr

Well having given the HIDs I got from HIDs Direct a "glowing" review, I am probably going to retract it!!

These were only fitted last Saturday (thanks to Soulman, Plasma, SignumBob) and they worked great, no issues.

Now the flipping O/S one has decided to start acting up!! I noticed this today, when I put my lights on at home only the N/S fired up and I got a bulb out warning. Turned them off and back on again and it "fired up" and worked fine.
This evening same thing, but took 3 or 4 off/ons before it worked but when it came on it stayed on with no faults, flickers etc.

Got home, and now no matter how many times you off/on them, the O/S refuse to turn on.

This doesn't seem a regular fault, it seems that it's not "firing" properly as I understand they have to so some major arcing/power thang to fire them up.

ANyone with them, can you also confirm that when the lights first get turned on they flick up really intensly bright on first turn on, then go much dimmer then build up to full brightness, is that normal to be so bright when firing up. (well I only have one now!!)

Any help?? If I was mechanically minded I'd take my bumber off and take them off and demand a refund. May just do that and just get some plain old Nightbreakers instead
(Just wondering if I can get at them without taking that blooming great bumper off, Facelift ones are sooooo heavy and awkward!

After working fine for a couple of weeks (apart from the flickering caused by a faulty ballast) my nearside bulb kept going out and throwing up the bulb out warning on the dash, if I turned the lights off and back on everything was fine for about 5 mins then same would happen again. Fitted a canceller eventually to that side and since then no more problems.

I have the cancellers, so you reckon even though they didn't need them at the start, sometimes a fault develops preventing them firing up. The cancellers should sort this out?

Hopefully, i can get to the wiring and just plug them in line.

    Thanks

Its the prefacelifts that tend to need cancellers. I've seen the Jam kits work on facelifts then get sold to a pre facelift owner who then needs cancellers. If I turn on my Hids and then turn on the ignition then one bulb doesn't work on mine. I always have to start the car then turn the lights on. As yes they really pop on bright, dim then come up to temp.

Because of a voltage drop maybe?

That used to happen on my vec b, if i fired up the lights before cranking the engine then one of the lights would go out, its due to a voltage drop, think the battery drops to about 9-10v volts during cranking which isnt enough really to run the HID's.

I've had a set from HIDs4U fitted for over 2 years without a problem - pre f/l without cancellers, although I believe cancellers are an integral component with these.

Mine always come on bright, dim then build up regardless of when or how I switch them on
