Help!!! Wet front passenger Floorwell Vecta C Estate

Please can anybody help me, after reading all the information on this site on how to cure the water coming into the front passenger side floorwell.I have cleaned the big rubber funnel, although it was not blocked up but water is still finding its way in.The model is a vecta C estate 2008 and the vauxhall warrenty will not cover the investigation as it is over a year old. They have told me it could take up to 8 hours to find it by stripping out the front interiar, and at £83 an hour this is my last resort. Some threads state that there are drain pipes in the bulkheads/wings as well as the 2 rubber funnels (one on each side) does my car have these and if so could sombody try do describe where they are,
    Ever hopeful for a soultion

Have a quick gas with a solicitor about this mate the first half hour is free I think you may find that under the sales of goods act yous car is not fit for purpose etc etc etc. Plus I don't know about you but importantly before I payed for (or since) I have not been furnished with any copy of the warranty terms and conditions so AFAIK I'm covered for 60,000 or three years apart from of course consumables like oil tyres etc etc..

I suspect you will be surprised at his/hers answer also try ringing Vauxhall customer services and ask them what they wish to do about it before you persue legal action..

Don't fall for the palm offs mate..

Its classed as trim and therefor only has 1 year warranty.

Lift up the bit to see the pollen filter and make sure all of the rubber seals around the pipes etc that go through the bulkhead are in the correct place as one of mine had come out and water was getting in through there.

I found it by removing the glove box - 6 screws and disconnect the light, climb in upside down with a torch and drence the screen with water. I saw it dripping down a pipe/cable and traced it from there.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Doesn't matter what they class it as! They could say in there opinion after you drive it off the forecourt it's warranty is void but who cares what the think/say. The law states that all goods must be fit for the purpose it was sold for and a car that pishes water in before (for argument's sake) it needs it's first MOT isn't fit for the purpose it's sold for. Been there seen it done it and worn the T-shirt.

No offence intended by the way!

EDIT I have worked in several dealerships as a spray painter/panel beater and those who shout and carry themselves on are the ones who get sorted the shrinking violets are the ones who pay £80-£90 an hour to fix what they should get for free!

What a lucky get out clause.

i have been down this route with vx before and got no where, it only came down to the dealer who supplied it offering goodwill as it was still within the time that I could have returned it.

If the OP has had it since new/a reasonable time then its all down to good will as vx only cover trim for 1 year!

Can you see the quandry that is posed here? It just becomes a nasty circle with teeth while your car fills with water and smells real nasty. If they refuse to look at it you may as well have a go yourself.

Unless your going to fight it for him?

No need for me to fight it for him a quick call to a solicitor or trading standards or C.A.B. or local law centre all of which should give the same advice TBH. It's not me that says so it's the law. A quick example my head light washers have packed in I mentioned it this week when I took my car in for it's first service they at first said it's not covered as it's a flexible pipe so as such a consumable like tyres etc. A quick conversation with the service manager soon came to a different conclusion and they're booked in to get sorted under warranty.

I'm not trying to be a smart arse of facetious just trying to save the OP a few quid by telling of my personal experience having gone through all this carry on before with great personal success. I was also under the impression that it's a known fault to Vauxhall and there is a remedy to fix it under warranty? Must of got that wrong maybe.
