this has probably been asked befor, sorry in advance.
if i got the 18" vxr replicas from lmf or 19" vxr wheels, what size tyres need to go on the 18's and would the said wheels 18/19 throw the speedo out after going from 17's

    Easy one to answer.

    If your running 215 50 17" tyres,

    225 45 18" and 235 35 19" tyres are in the same group on tech 2.

The 18" VXR replicas are 8" wide, so your best bet would be 235 40 18" like the VXR. You will also be OK with this size without upsetting anything.

Avoid 225 40 18" tyres, as this will slightly throw out your speedo. There will not be an issue technically but they were never an official size for Vectra C.

I dont think any would throw your speedo out as its done by the abs sensors not by a sensor in the gearbox

Interestingly (or not!) I have 225 40Z R18 92 W tyres on my V6 SRi. Now trying to find replacement wheel and tyre set.

Forgive me for being a bit ffikk. I'm not used to changing wheel sizes....But how will putting a wider wheel on your car throw your speedo out? Ok I understand that if you put a 18" wheel on (Changing from 17s) you need to reduce the size of the wall on your tyre to keep the circumference the same How Does width effect it?

A tyre has a thing called aspect ratio. that is the "height of the tyre from the ground to the rim "ie" 215(tyre width) 50 (aspec tratio) 17 (wheel diamiter).
Now the aspect ratio is the percentage of the tyre width. that is if the tyre is 215 wide then the aspect ratio is50% of that=107.5.
So if you put a tyre with say 225 wide the aspect ratio of 50. the tyre would be 112.5 from the ground to the rim. so the overall dia would make the wheel cover a larger distance fo one rev of the wheel, so throwing the speedo out a little.
    Hope this makes sence now.
