Hi, has anyone fitted a replacement handbrake cable to a vectra C 5dr. Im just in process of renewing handbrake cable on a 2003 Vectra C & have a slight problem. The Handbrake cable is made up of two cables connected together by a metal plate that attaches to the cable on the handbrake lever. When you lay the new cables out side by side, one cable is very slightly longer than the other. Now i know the obvious thing to do is match it up with the old cable when removing it from the vehicle but what if its already had a handbrake cable fitted before & someone installed it wrong ? When under the vehicle its hard to tell which side the longer cable goes as both cables run in exactly the same routing & locate in the same places giving no reason to run the longer cable one side or the other. I just want to know for my own piece of mind what side the longer cable goes on. As far as i can see theres no indication on the new cable to say which one goes to the rh side & Lh side & I get no help when speaking to my local vauxhall dealer. If anyone knows then id be grateful for a reply.
