    Default drilling air box

hi all i have read a few posts on here about drilling the airbox (below the air filter lol) and was wondering if it makes any difference with a k and n in ppl say you here is more like an induction kit and that you dont get heat soak if its on the bottom of the filter

has any one done this and is it worth doing???? i am seriously thinking about it???

any advice or opinions is good i have a 1.9cdti 150 facelift estate.

as above - you will gain noise and they ability for the engine to suck in dirt and other possible damaging debris as it will be below the air filter - any moisture/water sucked through (even an egg cup's worth) could potentially hydraulic the engine = game over - no chance to add additional credits for a £1

Did it on one of my old mondies-nice induction sound over 3k-slight increase in performance possibly, but not much. Best off taking the trumpet out of the filter box, banging in a decent panel filter..maybe vxr shortened air inlet ?
