    Default CDTI gearbox bolt patern

I need to know does the 1.9CDTI use the same bolt patern as GM's big block petrol engines (x20xev,z22se,z20let,z20leh.......)or does it use an adaptor for the bellhousing(like saab did when they used a GM gearbox on their 2.3turbos)? i think the 1.9 cdti uses two different gearboxes the m32 and m40(is this true, If so which models used which g/b?), is the m32 the same gearbox as the z20leh's only with diferent ratios.

The reason i am asking is because i want to put this engine into a RWD car and i am hoping GM make a strong enough gearbox in RWD format, if the bolt patern is not GM's patern i will have to look for a rwd fiat that uses this engine. Its very complicated and any help would be greatly appreicated.

the bell houseing patern isnt a gm fit i dont think but you would have to check to be 100% as for do gm make a rwd box strong enough the omega / carlton boxses were bomb proof in fact there still fitted in the corvette and monaro (6speed) so they do have strength .....weather you could bolt it top a z19 is yet to be seen ....

just a bit of info .....rover fitted the 1.9 into some late 75 mules and the 75 has a f23 gearbox fitted so the parturn maybe the same (rover killed the 1.9 75 due to the reliability / cost problems how ironic lol)

Fiat's Sedici is 4 wheel drive and is fitted with the 1.9 diesel engine. So plenty of options there as long as you keep a transverse engine configuration.
