Default Question for any MOT testers out there...

My Vectra has just gone straight through MOT, however 1 advisory, non standard suspension fitted? I've never seen this before on any MOT's, is that right?

    Thanks

Load of rubbish. never heard anything so ridiculous in my life. Advisories are faults that are areas of concern for the tester that he wishes to bring to the attention of the vehicle presenter. Advisories are items that should also be repaired as soon as possible but do not fall into the failure category. Therefore, what is his (the testers) concern? Ridiculous. Ignore it mate.

PS; I'm an MOT Quality Controller

No mention of the non-standard exhaust, or non standard angel eye headlamps or HID kit fitted? thats why I'm confused??

Annoys me though as now that will be recorded on the MOT computer system, I have a good mind to complain about it!

Nothing taht could be done now as far as the test centre goes. You can appeal against it but I've never heard of anyone appealing an advisory. Just let it go and take it somewhere else next year. I would hazard a guess that if the local VOSA Vehicle Examiner comes to visit (they do now and agin and surprise you lol), when he checks their terminal and should he see that advisory, then he might question the NT as to what the problem was that he felt he had to advise. If he can't give a valid excuse, he may even be given points. Once you amass 50 points you get suspended from testing for a defined period

Perhaps I should call the garage tomorrow and ask what the problem was as I'm concerned at the advisory....see what they say!....at least the MOT was only £20!

Yea why not. As you say, you're concerned. £20.00 is cheap
