Default Rear Screen Demist Issue-Leaves top 3 lines on Fiesta Mk4.5

    Hi guys,

On my facelift Mk 4 Fiesta when the rear windscreen is demisted, it ALWAYS leaves the top 3 lines, and then clears them once the rest of the screen has demisted (after about 7-10 mins).

I have noticed this on another similar Fiesta too that was for sale somewhere as well.

Is this a common problem, if SO, whats the fix? Is there a Fix? A quick DIY ?

    Thanks.

I doubt this can be fixed, the heater matrix (the thin copper strands) have burned out or been damaged/scratched/broken. I don't know if they can be soldered, never tried.
Looks like a new rear window to me :\

is that all? try my 1980 mk1 fiesta then!,that demists in 7-10 days! the power supply on that leads from the bottom of the rear screen towards the top i think it starts running out of current because it takes ages to demist 3 quarters of the way up!,i just leave it to heat up and its fine so maybe its just a fiesta thing?

probably the top 3 have been damaged, can you see a scratch through them? As mentioned above you can by Electro-conductive paint to repair it.

It will eventually clear as you've noticed because the other onces are slowly warming the glass up (heat rises)

    Vehicle : Jaguar XF 3.0D V6

It depends on how the last 3 lines clears. If they clear slowly from bottom to top evenly then they are probably broken. If they clear from each wire up and down, then they are probably just working slower and may just be slightly defective OR they could be designed like that so the most important bit clear first? Are these lines in your normal field of view when using the rear view mirror to see the road behind?
