    Default Rear Park Pilot

    Hi All,

Was wondering if someone knows if only the official rear park pilot system is fitted, will the park pilot switch on the dash enable it to be switched on/off?

Dealer says it wont do anything if its only the rear sys on car.
If it turns out the button will work with only the rear, my plan is to put it in myself, I am assuming that a further tech2 work will not be needed just to enable the button?

Also I am guessing the all the wiring is present as standard?

    Any help appricated

If you only have rear sensors the button can enable/disable the sensors when reversing.
I have retrofitted front and rear and only had rear sensors in beginning. My car had some of the wiring from factory but had to add some more, but don't remember at the moment. You don't need tech2 to add the switch.

All wiring is there and it will work to disable the rear sensors if thats all you have

Thanks guys, thought that was the case...will fit the switch myself

One other question, I dealer is going to put a new bumper on at their cost(long story!), I have mentioned about the rear park pilot bumper, as it would make it a little easier, i.e no need to drill....but they have cam back saying as the park pilot system going to be installed is not factory fit, the bumper holes may be slightly diffrent sizes?.

I find this strange, as surly if you buy the official vaxuhall park pilot sys, and rear bumper it should all be a perfect fit?

    Cheers,

The official bumper for fitting parking sensors has the sensor holders bonded in place. The retro fit one has sensors that clip in and they are a bit bigger

    Hi m8,

so, if they fit the park pilot bumper along with a park pilot system all should be ok, i.e not dodgy looking holes etc, and sensors should look ok?
Only diff is at factor holders are bonded on and holes are a little smaller.
