    Default HID upgrade worry

I'm worried about a HID upgrade. Has anyone Failed MOT/ been pulled by the fuzz for such an upgrade, on auto-leveling etc?

I've had HID's in numerous headlamps on my previous Vectra B's and never had a problem.

You will not fail the MOT with aftermarket HIDs but... http://www.dft.gov.uk/pgr/roadsafety/drs/hidheadlamps.

However, the DFT fact sheet talks about "aftermarket headlamps", and IMO, if you take the document as read, does not mention just changing bulbs.

    The decision is yours.

I tend to drive around with my headlights on a lot (during daylight too). I have passed and followed many a traffic cop, I've even chatted to a traffic cop in front of my vehicle while I was assisting at an accident and it's never been a problem.

I think they don't stick out in a projector headlight. it'd probably be more obvious if you had an old Escort with them in or something. As mentioned above, don't go silly on colour and make sure your headlights are adjusted correctly and you should be fine.

Or anything with a reflector type lamp such as the Insignia, Volvo V70, S80 etc..

Cheers boys, much appreciated. Might get some ordered then. Light up my life a little. At one point i thought of using my keyring torch to light my way, standard lamps were so dull.
