    Default dealer 5/30 oil cheap

    went to our local uncle arnolds vauxhall dealership for oil and filter,surprised at cost, 1x5ltr 5/30 fully synthetic oil = £10 + vat
    filter = £6.00 + vat
    seems there is a special on the oil at mo.

    Which dealership is that, as I am going near mine tomorrow?
    Can you get the part number for the oil?

    The last time I bought a 5 litre it was £22 plus VAT (excluding my 10% discount)
    However, they do often get "unbranded oil"
    At the moment they are using Texaco 10W40 oil on all servicing, unless you ask for the VX stuff!

    They are always changing them!
    My car is on 30K miles / 2 years
    The latest service sheet now shows both 10K miles and 20K miles options
    However, the oil specification has not changed on point 14, although the wording has been revised that using lower service intervals removes the need to use GM-LL-B specification but 5W30 oil must still used

    That also explains why Arnold Clark may have stocked up on the cheaper synthetic 5W30
