    Default Acceleration sticking...

    Hi all

    difficult one to describe...ill try.

When driving normally or on the motorway i find that my acceleration sticks, meaning the revs fly up and the car doesnt go as fast as the revs show. Releasing the accelerator and pressing the pedal again slower brings it back to normal, this is a pain when trying to get off a slip road on the the motorway to say the least.

    Any advice?

Sounds like slipping clutch to me. Some folks have had issues with the clutch pedal not returning properly. Next time it does it, stick your foot under the pedal and see if it lifts up at all.
There is, I think, a mod kit available with a stronger spring.

got a new clutch fitted last week. £350 all in. i had same symptoms as u. to make sure ur clutch is gone. start the car, pull the handbrake up tight, whack it into 4th gear, lift up your clutch smoothly. if it doesnt stall, then u need a new clutch. and i would advise to get it sorted asap. i left mine for a week before i got round to doing it, it works its way from 5th gear to 4th to 3rd to 2nd and last but not least 1st. and then u truly are fooked!

did the 4th gear clutch test and the car stalls as normal as the clutch is lifted to the top.

Is there anything else i can do to test or if i take it into a clutch specialist will they be able to check and diagnos?

There is a chance that there maybe some adjustment left on the cable, to get a bit more bite, but it won't last much longer, best to just get a new clutch assembly, as, has been suggested, sound's like you'll be struggling to get it uphill, or even off a junction briskly very soon
