Mines a facelift, when you say bluefin unit: do you mean you can put it in and take it off yourself ?
    cheers

Yes mate the Bluefin is the handheld unit used for loading , unloading the map and also can receive updated maps . A normal V Spire map is no more than £400 so with the extra you've been quoted I would assume that is for the bluefin if available.
As for people on here saying dont get a remap , be your own man and if Thorney are offering you a map with there standard 3 year 60k warranty which doesnt effect your manufacturer's one I would go for it deffo.

Thanks for the info, it sounds a better deal than the BSR, if its
    load and unloadable !

Yes but you would need to check with Thorney that it's available

£550 for an off-the-shelf remap, thats a lot of money. You could get a custom one written for your car for 1/2 that..

Thorneys re-map for the 1.9 CDTi is not removable, as they use Superchips for this map Bluefin is not available for the 1.9.

    Worth dealing with Superchips directly.

Anyone used the Chipped UK ST3 box ? They quoted me 399 for the box and 2 maps (standard, economy, performance). I`m aware of the guys reputation from BMW forums but have never had any problems with him myself.
