I've seen Mav do this loads of times - I think he jsut takes up the obvious electrical connections first then away he goes...

Snowfoam wont remove oil and grease so I wouldnt bother. Use some proper engine degreaser or the Megs Engine cleaner then the Megs Engine dressing as it works very well and looks nice afterwards

I tried the snowfoam on mine a little while back and as above it doesn't really work.

I use Megs APC, some good stuff and does the trick

I did this on my Astra, think the stuff was called Gunk or something. Do it while the engine is running (it gets wet anyways) and just cover important electrical stuff with plastic bags.

Why? I do mine very 4-6 months, and have done on all 4 of my 1.9 CDTi's and my 3.0 V6 CDTi. Never had one fault.

I don't cover anything up either. The electric systems these days have to conform to IP67 water rating. Which actually means the part protected to IP67 can be submerged up to 1m for a maximum of 1 minute.

So snowfoaming and blasting off the engine bay with water will cause no problems what so ever.

Your right, it's no good for removing oil and grease, but if everything is working well, there should'nt be any lying about

What it is good for though, is the general road muck and dust that builds up.
