    Default heater blowing warm

    can anyone give a bit of advice my 1.8 2004 heater is only getting warm not hot blower works on all settings1234 but only gettin warm

    My 1.8 is the same since I changed the thermostat last week. I suspect the heater matrix may be blocked, I did think there might be air in there but they're supposed to be self bleeding systems.
    There was a post recently about checking the pipes going to the matrix when the engine is hot, both pipes should be hot if one's cold its got air in or a blockage.

    I think you have air in the matrix.

    So the cold one when up to engine temp remove this pipe a wee bit so air can escape and nice hot water may come out, then push back on.

    If not you may have a partial blocked matrix which means a back flush both pipes off & shove water hose up it and the crud comes out the other & it's messy.

    bleed then back flush. I checked mine last night and both were warm which has stumped my plans for heat!
