Default 2.2DTi brake disc size upgrade and shock and spring replacement

I'm looking to change my discs and pads on my 2.2DTi.

Would I be right in saying that if I wanted to fit the larger discs from the GSi or 3.0CDTi I would need different caliper brackets? If so, does anyone have part numbers to hand, please? The rear discs also come in a vented option, would I need a wider caliper?

Also, I'd like to lower the car as its an Elite and handles like a barge. Can someone please point me in the right direction to affordable springs and shocks, or could I get away with just springs and keep the Elite shocks?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

In answer to 1st question to fit the larger 314mm discs you will need the calipers and carriers as well because the calipers are bigger, the standard rears on the DTi are ok.Most people with the DTi's just go for the bigger 314mm conversion as they seem underbraked at the front. HTH (im sure others will be along to advise you)

Tbh mate I wouldn't bother going any bigger than 302's. Those were fitted to the early V6's and all of the 2l turbo Vecs. I've had them fitted to mine for about 6 months now and they feel great with plenty of stopping power. Also as they aren't as sought after the prices are pretty cheap too.

If you wanted that bit more power from them fit them with EBC groove dot discs and green stuff pads

As for shocks/springs if you are looking to stiffen it up a bit then I would fit eibach springs with bilstein b4 shocks. You could just do the springs if you wanted but you'd probably find it a bit soft still.
