    Default 1.9 CDTi Slight misfire

What does occassional lumpy cold idle and occassional misfire/juddering at about 1800k sound like? I've just cleaned EGR and boost valve... they appear OK. No EML or spanner. Drive OK but just not 100%. Are these 3rd injector loom symptoms?

That is usually the EGR or 3rd Injector plug.... you can clean the plug with some WD40 and see if it temp fixes it. Was the EGR fully cleaned out (both sides stripped and cleaned)..?

yes the EGR was removed and soaked in WD40, then I split the solenoid from the valve, but I didn't need to drill out the solenoid as this was nice and springy still. prior WD40 sessions seem to have kept this free of corrosion. i'll whip the 3rd injector plug off later and have a look. thanks

The valve might be springy, but may not have its full travel though, I found this with one I previously took off mine.

Certainly worth cleaning up the injector plug anyway though.

Give the third injector connector a skoosh with WD40 if it improves then replace the connector. What colour are you connectors? think the old ones are yellow, new ones blue if memory serves

lumpy idle could be an injector out of tolerance, hesitation/slight misfire approx 1800-2400k at part throttle is probably EGR

just been outside and took the plugs off all the injectors - they are the yellow clipped originals. plugs 1 and 2 looked fine, 3 and 4 had some brown crap on them. WD40'd as suggested and into the injector connectors. wiggled to ensure a good connection, but don't think it has helped... still not idling 100%. oh and checked state of wiriing to connector on injector loom 3. seems fine under there too...

similar symptoms and did you just change the 3rd inj loom part or the actual injector itself too?
