    Default vectra turbo

    hey,
I am looking into getting a 2.0 turbo veccy in the next couple of months (once ive fixed and sold the signum)! It will be about a 2004 model!
Are there any major issues i should be aware of or are they highly recommended? im just looking for a bit of feedback to see if people rate them or not! Or if they have common faults etc
I dont want another nightmare like ive had with the signum

Your advice would be much appreciated!

    Cheers

    Ed

hope you have deep pockets mate

because when you buy it - you wont want to sell it but you will spend LOADS modding it

a decent engine and the best (IHMO) for tuning and tinkering

Not often you see many problems on here about the 2.0T's, and from what I can see, it's VERY moddable! But as above, you'd better have a high savings account because the you will catch a major case of the modding bug!

Just be careful, i picked my 2003 turbo up two weeks ago and i have had nothing but problems. Before i had even picked it up it had to have a new ecu fitted then half and hour of having it the engine management came on so went back to the garage, turned out the co2 sensor in the exhaust was knackered. Then once i got back another half an hour of driving the engine management come on again then the car and spanner symbol came up putting the car into limp mode, timing chain and tensioner is having to now be changed as making metallic tapping noises when cold, also when cold idle starts at 1000rpm then shoots up to around 2500 and 3000rpm. So since having it has spent more time in the garage being repaired than on my driveway and i still haven't got it back yet. On another note as well if anything does go wrong you will be in for a long wait for parts as i keep getting told that all the parts that have been needed to repair my car have to come from Germany. All i can say is good luck.

you must have a friday car mate,i have had the od issue but nothing thats cost anything more than £110 and that was the most i have spent on it at 1 time for fixing apart from serviceing, bost solinoid £10 and aftermarket dump valve which is not really a fault with the car
