Default Pads are screeching! Please, suggest new

Hi guys! I got Vectra 2003 1.8, can you suggest me new both front and rear breaking pads for affordable price? The problem is that the pads are almost new but the noise is terrable. As I bought my Vectra recently I dont know which are the good one. Help!! thanks in advance!

if the pads are new, did you fit them yourself? if so, remove them & put a smear of copperslip on the metal backing to the pads. then refit. should solve the problem, although i seem to remember my rear pads had anti squeal backings to them. copperslip cant do any harm though, so long as you dont get any on the friction material.

as for replacements & cost, VX pads arent that expensive & after a bad experience with some ferodo pads i fitted to a previous car, standard manufacturer pads are 100% recommended, imho.

It's best to change the discs at the same time as when changing the pads.

Pads these days are equally as hard as the discs and often wear down at nearly the same rate.

Also, it's cheaper to but a disc & pad kit from Vx than it is to buy the pads and discs separately from them. This is to help encourage people to change both the pads and discs at the same time.

I've bought these, and are fitting them at the weekend.

Quick delivery and i've used them on several cars and they make a good improvement on standard.

Says for the 2.2 but confirmed same as the 1.8.

The pads are good if not a little dusty, its what I use, cant comment on the disks as there not Mintex.

To the OP, as said a good lick of Copper slip works wonders on the little blighters, it also gives better feel as well.

Quoted from VX Dealer, Greenhous in Telford:

Front discs and pad kit = £85.19 inc vat
Rear disc and pad kit = £85.78 inc vat

Obviously check your dealer as i'm advised they appear to make up their own prices!!
