    Default Fiat EGR Gasket Question....

Right then, I now have the gaskets that I ordered from Fiat they are the two square ones pictured....
but do they do a semi-blanking gasket for the oval side too..? They had a search but couldn't find one, only the standard one (pictured).

What did other people get from Fiat...???

    Dan,

How come you have two big gaskets- - did you order 2 or is that how it comes?

Ive ordered these but arrive Thu as the small one was coming from Italy

The top big one is a metal plate which was £12 and the other sqaure one with the red edging (a proper gasket) seems to be exactly the same, but was only £4 (from Italy) I was a bit confused too (used the part numbers off this forum). It seems silly to semi blank this side only, as the EGR will still have the same amount of crud entering it as before, just not as much leaving (surely will block quicker) - so need some for the inlet side, like I posted above.

OK trying to work this out

    So I have ordered:
    1 x 71751468
    1 x 55225287

Looks like the same as you from what I can see on your invoice - but you have three there.. Or is the third small oval just there as thats what you are asking about..

    OK I see...

So for the small oval ones - we need all three?? or just the blanking and an oval gasket?

    Default

the red gasket is is the revised replacement for part no 55191883 (£3.19+ vat). some delaers still have the above part, but most will give you the red one (£4.04 + vat). What you need to do , is ask the dealer to to order the original part no above, and show him a picture.

It seems all three are needed, as the metal blanking plate doesn't provide enough seal on its own, so the std gaskets are used either side of it to make sure it seals ok - these appear the same as on the 120 too.

Just called Fiat Slough and they have the oval blanking plate in, but not the two standard ones. Getting me them for tomorrow when I pick up the other two.

OK - so the std ovals sandwich the blanking plate, thats fine.

How do the big ones work then? do you need to fit both still?

    (isn't this fun! )

Is the red one not ok then... I have that one and the blanking plate too.

Have you fitted these, which one did you get for the exhaust gas side..?
