Exclamation CD30/TID to CDC40/GID help please!

Right you might all hate me for this lol, but i have a corsa c, its half canbus like the vec c, and i have recently bought a new cdc40 hu from a dealership, and i have a GID from a facelift vec c. I have installed them, and they work to a degree. Basically they both come on, i can control the screen with the hu. However the canbus functions dont work, ie. ignition logic, temperature reading, ice warning, fuel range, trip computer, and the timer only works on "travel time". Also the hu does not light up with the headlights and the steering wheel controls dont work. I have had it coded by vaux, and they managed to get "display safe" and "headunit safe" to stop displaying. They said they have got the hu to interact with the screen, just need to get them both to interact with the car. We came to a joint decision it must need a different code index, but we dont know what they are. Can anybody suggest what the code index should be please?

Then you would need the electrical schematics for corsa and vectra to see what wires your missing or what wires need changing

    Vehicle : Vectra C

    Trim : Energy

    Engine : Z19DTH

    Year : 2005

    Mileage : 131,000

The one in the link above, is a half can set-up...much better suited and easier to fit to a Corsa than a full can system.

Right there is a distinct difference between the BCM and CIM set up on the Corsa C compared to the Vectra C

To get it to work right in your car you may need to source some bits from your local scrappy...

The logic control and steering wheel scroller wheels / buttons are done via a CIM module (The corsa doesn't appear to use one of these), it will also do other check / warning functions..such as the ice crystal image when the temperature is below 3 degrees.

I used a Vectra BCM for the can-bus links such as lighting control and the temperature stuff. (this is totally different to the cosa BCM)

You do have canbus, albeit limited.
so you should be okay for board computer functions - just need to put in the links

    Do look at my Thread...putting a CD70 into a non-canbus car.
loads of pin outs and pictures. CDC40 is wired up in a similar manner.

To get my Temp gauge working, I got a stand-alone Vectra C BCM.
This is totally different from the Corsa-c's BCM.
You will need one +12 volts (red), two grounds (brown), the blue and blue white on your exisiting display plug (pins 6 and 7) will need moving to the Vectra BCM pins 44 and 47.
Then from Pin 40 of the BCM you link a green canbus wire to pin 28 of the new gid display.
Lighting is also controlled via the BCM, but requires a gutted light switch panel to modify the light switch functions for the canbus / bcm to understand.

To get the snow flake, you would need a gutted CIM module pcb.
I used this to get my ignition logic also...you will need this for steering wheel controls!!
You then link one green canbus wire to the BCM pin 41.

To get your ABS / VSS / Speed signal to the display,
Your current Corsa display plug has the blue/red on pin 12...you could try moving this to the radio pin 37
otherwise if this doesn't work, you will need to put a link to the Vectra CIM module, and another to the radio pin 37...

The info for you BC functions...you need to link your green and white can bus wires from your Corsa BCM...This is more like guess work, but is worth a shot!!
bcm pin 5 (or from your instrument cluster pin 2) - white -----to new gid pin 23
bcm pin 43(or from your instrument cluster pin 8) - green -----to new gid pin 22

Just a query on this one...try moving the green from pin 10 to pin 28.

As the greens and whites are can-bus wires, you can't do any damage through voltage levels...at worst either nothing will happen, or you may get a spurious fault message.
    At best it will work.

Can I assume that you have re-wired your 32 pin display plug, because the Corsa one is quite different to the Vectra equivalent.
For the New GID (Vectra style)....
You don't need black on pin 4
You don't have the temp wires on pins 6 & 7
    You dont use pins 15, 16, 26, 27, 29 and 30

Sorry for the war and peace...but there are a few functions that you are after!
