    Red face Vauxhall Customer Services

    Hi Everyone,

I want to contact customer services to try and get a new modified inlet manifold at a reduced price due to it being a massive design fault.

Has anyone got any contact details for them, can't seem to find them on the Internet

Hopefully with a bit of I can get one

    Cheers

    Rob

On the bottom of the page on their website it says "contact us". I'm surprised you couldn't find it.

    good luck!!

I tried many calls and letters with the PDF from the makers - and still they wouldn't contribute a penny to my inlet replacement.. My cat had only covered 37K

We run through a proxy at work over to Denmark, I can't even get to the vauxhall Website due to restrictions lol!

Anyhow have just rang them and they say they can't help with the costs due to the car not having full Vauxhall Service History!

    Grrrrr

I was thinking about this today – IMO it is damn cheeky when a mfr designs a part that is flawed, brings out an upgraded part to address the flaw, then charges joe public when the original flawed item breaks! That’s screwed up.

Imagine Microsoft Windows charging for updates!

This has just happened to me on the Signum and also in another car were the gear shift to gearbx linkages were originally made of plastic; they would wear and fall off! The upgraded item was metal..

The only place this seems to be “acceptable” is in the motor industry.

    Rant over...

I have to say I agree with snapsnap 100% - it's totally unacceptable. In AntSSSS's case where the car had only done 37K miles, I'd say that's verging on criminal... The manifold should be a recall item, but it's a pricey part and job so they'll drag their heels all the way.

I still say that cleaning the boost valve and EGR should be part of the standard service too. I notice my warranty explicitly excludes any damage caused "by the build up of carbon deposits" - implying that relevant items should be cleaned/maintained or "serviced". The handbook recommends that one refers pretty much everything to our local Authorised Vauxhall Repairer yet, when one does so, they just charge for a brand new one. Nice, thanks Vauxhall.
