Default Vectra 1.9CDTI 150 - Cold Starting Woes

    Hi All,

I've been scanning the threads about my current issue and find plenty having and living with and fixing the following.

When my car has been stood for a while when starting from cold it takes about 5 - 10 seconds to get going .... runs roughly. There is some blue smoke that goes very quick and does not appear when running.

It is in next week for a new manifold and egr ..... will this probably be the cause or any thing else I should look for?

    Cheers all

ive never had any cold starting problems with my vec even when i found that the swirl bar had fallen off. could be one of your glow plugs or an injector or even the leak off pipes either one could cause cold starting issues fella

Just what I was thinking, a leak off pipe or loss of vacuum from some other pipe, check for hair line cracks by the clamps on pipes.

    Completely agree

Reasoning behind the the inlet is if his swirls are sticking... but then he is getting no codes etc..
