    Default Rear pad light?

    hi all,
got the veccy in garage today for a new cambelt kit and new rear pads.

question is when the rear pads are low would this bring my red handbrake light on? as it keeps coming on now and again? or have i another problem?

It means your brake fluid is low (or the sensor think so anyway).

the guy at my local vx dealership said that only the front brakes trigger the warning light when the pads are low, the rear ones do not. buuut obviously this does not neccessarliy mean this is true.... you know how they are!

that's correct in terms of the pad wear sensor...

the OP is referring to the handbrake warning light, which also doubles up as a low brake fluid warning light...
