    Default dti tuning box

    i no this has been asked before but what tuning box is best for he 2.0dti, i seen a thread on here before that you can get some for £50 the only ones ive seen are on ebay for around £400 theres no way im paying that for just 10-20 bhp extra

    I wouldnt do it to be honest on the DTi's the pump is fragile and dont like tuning if it goes tits up you will be looking at a hefty repair bill for the pump anything up to £1000 but its your choice HTH

    as above mate, plus its alot of money for an extra 25bhp

    i new i should of got a cdti lol

    whats the best way then to mod it, panel k&n filter?

    Yes panel , air box mod and perhaps a cat back exhaust. Think these DTI s are just built to be reliable and economical off which they are.

    The only tuning box I trust/own is the steinbauer tuning box but they are expensive. They are pretty "pump safe" as they don't increase fuel pressure but regulate the pump cycle with impulses.

    Thats why the steinbauer pbox tuning boxes only have three wires (battery+/- and one onto the pump)

    Most other boxes have wires going to accelerator pedals etc.

    Only downside as you have mentioned about the steinbauer is its price

    you can also decat the exhaust, as the deisels dont really need them as much as a petrol

    thats what i mean i dont want to pay much, ill try a panel filter and clean the egr valve and boost sensor,

    My mates 2.0dti taxi is on 300k same pump, you only hear the horror storys
