Advice with car mats

got my nice new car mats yesterday, they fit great but just one problem, they didn't come with the fixing screws that fit in the holes.
do you have to buy these from the dealers ?
where do they attatch too, under the carpet ?
any advice gratefully received.

Did you buy the mats from the dealer or from somewhere else? Are they made for your car?

If they are genuine VX ones they usually come with the fixing screws, but non VX ones wont.

You could probobly get some screws from a dealer, id guess they cost a few pence each maybe. Then they simply screw into the carpets. When i did mine i lined the mats up and put a sharp pencil through each of the holes in the mat, then lifted the mat out over the pencils, then removed one of the pencils used the small hole that id made with the pencil to screw down the fixing screw into the carpet. by doing this you make sure the mats are lined up properly.

On the Vectra you only have to do this for the front, as theres no way the rears can move or slide forwards, but im not sure about yours.

they are not vx supplied but do have the fixing holes at the end of each mat. £20from ebay but good quality

if you go to any vx garage you will get the clips that screw in to the carpets mate usually come in pairs

Were these Vx mats BTW? - bought from a dealer? If they were, they should come with these bits. If they didn't, then you should be having a word with the dealer to get you some.

He got them off fleabay D. I do have 4 laid about, it's just finding them LOL. Anyway, between the two of us, we should be able to sort it out
