2002 Vectra lOCK SET AND ECU

hI guys I have recently bought a 2002 Vectra 2.2 dti, I went to get a new key coded and have been informed that there is an ecu fault due to it being changed at some point so I am unable to get new keys coded to the car. Upon further inspection my key doesnt open the boot lock

( either so this would confirm that it has been changed at some point.

Im wondering about buying a salvaged lock set and ecu that has 2 keys and the code card supplied as this appears to be a cost effective option at £245 quid for the set, my question is does the new ecu need to tech2'd to the car and are the lock set and ecu model specific? the set im looking at is from a 2.2 petrol. A nother option is it possible to wipe' an ecu and start again and recode my original ket plus a new one? im a bit clueless when it comes to this stuff sorry. Thanks for any help you can give

You cant change just the ecu on the 2.2 dti, as its built into the fuel pump.....

Thankyou for the info so maybe the ecu hasnt been changed before and the guy who was making the keys just didnt know really what he was doing and the boot lock is damaged........
With regards to the ECU is it possible to wipe the ecu and re-install the keys to it? I was wondering if the ecu was just full as it can only hold a few key codes? Vauxhall have said they will take it in and tech2 it to see what can be done however I get an expensive feeling in wallet at this option.
