    Default SRI Suspension

I have read dozens of threads about the suspension set-ups and am thinking of replacing my standard set-up for the SRI shocks with VXR springs for a 20-25mm drop on standard. The SRI shocks I am told are shorter than standard and firmer than standard to help pre-load the SRI springs so fitting these shocks should help with the VXR ones I plan to put on.
Question is do I have to change anything else like the top mounts to fit this set-up to my car?

I think the top mounts are all the same mate. However, you may want to replace the roller bearings (strut bearings) while you are there and have everything apart.

I think I recall Kman replacing the shocks in his Elegance for B4's and he used the same top mounts with no problems

If your going down this route, fit SRi shocks and springs, Fitting VXR springs is a really bad idea as there is engine weight difference between 2.8T and 1.9 CDTi.

By doing the SRi kit, you can buy the srpings that are the right match for your engine.

But you can keep everything else in your strut set up.

Cheers mate but mine is an auto also and so the axle weight at the front is almost identical within 15Kgs mine being heavier strangely enough.

Ah, OK didn't realise you had the auto which is heavier. But surely you would get the same effect from proper SRi springs from an Auto?

I have SRI springs for the weight range but 1 is bust the VXR springs came up that offer a further upto 10mm drop and as I have 18" wheels the SRI setup seems a little tall. If the VXR ones don't work I can put the SRI's on with the SRI shocks I am getting just wondered about issues that all but seems that theres none really cheers for the responses.
