What a fantastic day, big thanks to Jayson for looking after us and doing the business with the motors
The day started for me with a 'spirited' run up with PIMM on the M5, then we met the rest of the runners at Mc D's for some light refreshment before convoying on to Chipped UK in Bromsgrove.
I'm sure the others will be posting about their figures and results, so i'll leave that to them. With the aid of PIMM's original brochure and Robbies calculator we worked out my 2.2's original output should be around 138bhp, on the first Dyno run, it chucked out 148bhp! This would be down to the K&N induction kit and new back-box. After the map she chucked out an impressive 163.8bhp with 156lbft of torque at 5775rpm. But as stated by the other guys, it's not all about the max figures.
A quick spin out with Jayson confirmed that the flatspots had gone and I came back with the big cheesy grin. The real test though comes towards the end of the drive home as the engine takes a while for it to adjust to the new settings and by the time I got home it had just got better and better.
Power and torque delivery is so much smoother, it pulls from much lower down in the rev range and just keeps going. Gear changes are so much better as theres no hesitation or drop off in power so making progress is far better. Dropping a gear to overtake gives a proper adrenaline rush, not felt since driving a GSi.
On the way back, got stuck behind a guy in a BMW 328i coupe, pootling along at 60mph in 5th we rounded a bend on to a mile long stretch of DISUSED AIRFIELD so i dropped into 4th to pass him, as I pulled alonside the t**t grinned at me and floored it. So i dropped it into 3rd and smiled back politely as I passed him at just over 9*mph still in 3rd, needless to say he wasn't smiling much anymore
Am I pleased with Jayson's remap? Oh hell yes! Would I recommend it as an upgrade for people with a 2.2 petrol? Bl00dy heck yes!

Pimm's cracker, showing off his new exhausts, oh what a noise this makes, has to be one of the best sounding cars i've EVER heard:
