    Default Right first time

John you were right first time ha ha

I went looking found a bolt that screws over the top from halfords to remove it. It stated on website if had free spinning outer guard may not work so i though i would go check to see if they had by taking other one of and the key just slide so the key is goosed.

Anyone know if they have the free spining guard?

    Default

This happened to me on the M40 i got a puncture and had exactly the same problem.

I had to take it to a garage where they have a specalist tool for it but you guessed it due to the spinning sleeve they didnt work.

To get it off in the end we had to snap the spinning collar off using a small chisel/Screwdriver and then we had to hammer a slighly smaller socket over the top of it and then just undo it as normal.

Big job though, i suggest if you have breakdown from home, i would call them out they will do it for you. (Just put your other wheel on and flatten your tyre and pretend you have a puncture so you need to put your spare on they should do it for you lol)

    Default Many thanks

    Many thanks guys for responses

Bogz dotn have any cover and cant get any of the wheels of as key is knackered

after much searching and a few phone calls.

Local tyre fitters want £11 per nut.

Called local dealer with the code (188) which i found stuck to the back of the spare tyre cover in boot. They qoute £27.25 for new set and he is checking now.

So if i get them off there going in bin and i will use normal nuts

Worst case i will split spinning guards and socket them off
